i need help for me and my friend be goth

Basic timeline for western art
early medieval, byzantine, gothic etc

I went to high school and was friends with a few gothic folk (all white)… but my hs was very diverse. I have been called emo, and have wanted to dress as they do…

Just curious… Have you ever seen a black/ bi-racial/hispanic/asian,etc…. goth or emo person?
Princess Loves Obama- get off your high horse… I’m from Brooklyn, NY… it doesn’t get much more diverse and melting pot-esque than NYC! At my school, there were Black kids who dressed sorta goth but I didn’t want to make any assumptions.
Teddy- of course people can adopt the thoughts and ideas the fashions of various subcultures regardless of race… but with race often comes culture… and certain cultures are more inclined to adopt the ideals of a subculture than another….

Hello everyone. Me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year and ten months straight. He lives with his mom and step dad, so I don’t see his dad or step mom very often…
This Sunday, I am going to Mass with Noah and his dad, and later, will see his step mother.
His step mother is a bit… odd. She claims to be such a wonderful Christian, but, has been divorced twice, and had an affair with my boyfriend’s dad, while he had two kids and was already married (and she was married outside their relationship with kids of her own, too). She thinks Metalica, Ozzy Osbourne, Harry Potter, and anyone who is Liberal, Libertarian (myself, but she doesn’t know that yet) or is in a different political standing is evil, or anyone who is gay (I personally love gay people, don’t think it’s right… but I have tons of gay and bi friends, and I love them to the point of death), or listens to metal…

Help!

She was scared the first time she saw me even, when I went to church with them… (I’m a Christian, too). It took her a long time to warm up to me, even though I was nice…

Well, I want to be honest with her this sunday.
"Yes, I listen to metal."
"Yes, if you have not figured it out from the black lace, boots, accessories, make up and what not… I do consider myself, and have for a long time now, a goth."
"Yes I like some songs by Ozzy Osbourne and some metal bands… but that doesn’t make me a bad person."
"Yes I like vampires, but I hate Twilight." (She thinks Harry Potter is evil and threw away my boyfriend’s book which was a gift from his catholic grandmother, whom I love… but she loves Twilight. I know, doesn’t make much sense.)
"Yes… I look like this all the time…"
"No, I don’t do drugs or go to that many secular concerts… only one I’ve ever been to was because Dir en Grey was in the United States…"

and so on and so on….

Can you guys give me suggestions?

I don’t want to cause more issues than there already are, but I really don’t feel right about, well… being dishonest with anyone, really, let alone someone who is the stepparent of my boyfriend of 1 year and 10 months…

so again, any advice would be great.

My boyfriend does not want me to change or compromise who I am, what I am, or what I like.

I need to just tell his step mom I’m not a bad person… and there is alot of Christian goth metal and even a goth christian techno CD from the early 90s I found at a thrift store…..
so yeah: need to be honest about who I am, so she does not freek out later… or silently judge US (if we were just friends, I wouldn’t care much at all) because of some bad sterotypes she heard on Fox.

p.s I do have a good singing voice and i like the bordeline screaming, i am a girly goth i tend to wear black but with pink too (those are my two fav. colors) but if you guys are interested in being in a band then email me =D
