I am curious to find more music in the gothic genre. Not exactly metal. I might be uninformed, but I do believe the two are very different. So goth music. Perhaps songs and bands that are familiar with and sound like the songs featured on the movie Queen of the Damned? Kindeytheives, David Draiman, Static X, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Genutortures, Papa Roach…..?
such as vampires and the like?
so it wouldnt be considered supernatural genre as long as it contains elements of the gothic genre (e.g. a gothic setting)?
I was looking how to style my hair like like an emo or goth would, and tips or ideas how to? I looked online but they all say different things. Any ideas or tips? Thanks.
Is it a like being super drunk, stoned, or something different?
We have a great relationship, we spend a lot of our time together, we skydive together, he’s my best friend, and we love each other very much. This would be a picture-perfect relationship except one thing is lacking: the romance. As sweet as he is, he doesn’t know how to be romantic. We’ve discussed this several times, and he always says that he has been used to dating the "goth" girls who didn’t care, and not a more "girly girl" (like me I guess?) who wanted romance. I think I first brought up this topic with him a few months ago, and since then he has made no effort to start adding romance into our relationship. I’m not asking for him to buy me expensive presents or anything like that, just the little stuff, like a love note every once in a while or him tellin me he can’t take his eyes off of me. He tells me that he loves me all of the time, and he says that is how he expresses his love…. but to me "I love you" and "you mean the world to me" say two totally different things.
I was just thinking near the end of 2008 and in 2009 the two biggest movies were Slumdog Millionaire and Twilight. Both of them won awards at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and MTV Movie Awards shows and there’s a huge gothic vampire trend right now and I think there was a short lived Bollywood trend earlier this year. What if designers decided to combine the two to make a unique style. Do you think it would sell?
What makes a Goth, Goth, besides the taste in music. The one common thing goths do is listen to gothic rock and related genres (deathrock, post-punk, dark wave ect), but apart from that, what do Goths do? I am a big fan of Gothic music, so I would count myself as Goth, but what about literature and art, where does this fit in? Does someone who doesnt enjoy Gothic literature a Goth? And is someone who doesnt like Gothic music, but dresses in Gothic fashion and reads Gothic literature a goth? My personal view is that you have to listen to the music to be goth, then the rest; fashion, art, literature is up to you, you can do what you like with it? But whats your view, your experience of this?
Nice sensible answers please.. and thankyou for your time.
thanks i need some new stuff for my ipod ![]()
I’ll be spending three weeks in Dallas, TX from dec. 8 to dec. 28 and I’m looking for a nice electro-goth club in the Dallas area. Can anybody help me or suggest any other place or event worth a visit for a black-death-goth-electro night?
Thank you!
