black nail polish is in and i want to ry it, but is it an emo/goth/punk trend, im very preppy so idk?
okay so in every mag i read and i every celeb on tv is wearing black nail polish. i bought some but idk if i should wear it bcuz all the emo/punk ppl in my school wear it. i have nothing against emo ppl, its just that im very preppy and i dont want to seem like a weird poser. so what should i do? btw, if i painted them black but then put white tips on them would that be less emo and cuter? i 13 in 7th grade too. thanxxxx

It doesn’t matter what other people think. Don’t label yourself! You are you and wear black nailpolish if you want to. Just because you do, that doesn’t mean you are like the "emo/goth" people. And there is no such thing as a poser! Again, you are you. People that can’t accept that are not your true friends.
Black is very versatile && just cause your nail polish is black,it doesn’t make you "emo" or "goth".

o yea you could totally wear it. jus look at LC on the hills shes preppy and wears it. black nail polish is in for everyone.

imm 13 too. i always wear black nail polish and im def. not emo… far from itt. think about it though vitoria beckham alwayssss wears black nail polishh. i would say black nail polishh is an awesomee trend.
paint them black and put a little rhinestone on each nail by the tip. Use a thick clear topcoat to keep the rhinestone in place. You won’t look goth with a rhinestone! Another trick, look for nail decals and choose one light enough to show over the black.
Just wear it! It’s not necessarily "preppy", but rather fashionable. I’ve seen it on runways alot! So the emos and punks better make room, cuz there trend it making it to the runways and redcarpet.
Black nail-polish can be preppy and cute. I think its cute, but NOT if you match it with an emo outfit or something.

i think it looks great on older people like in magazines because they dont really have the whole emo ..punk kids in school..so in ur situation…i say do it with the tips white (that’s sounds really cute)..because.. for some reason people do tend to start thing about u as a poser emo…and ur not ..so i say do it with the white tips so its more preppy and people wont call u a poser

I would suggest revisiting this question in another ten years, when you’re old enough to know that doing something just because celebrities are doing it is stupid, and not doing things just because some arbitrarily named clique is doing it is even more stupid.
Black nail polish is totally not goth or emo. I’m actually wearing black nail polish right now. I know many girls who wear it, and doesn’t at all make them even look goth or emo. If I were you, just wear it for day, and see what you think. Give it a try, believe me no one will think you are emo. Have fun =)
it would look cute if you dont wear dark makeup or clothing. it would help if your hair isnt that dark.
Poseur goths will care. I don’t.
Try painting them a fave color with black tips. I often paint them to match my outfit when I need to tone myself down a bit. I wait for them to dry, then put scotch tape over half each nail and repaint black. You get a nice half and half look that isn’t too drastic.
i think you should try it. (with the white tips like a french manicure- its going to look really cute!) you could set a new trend at your school! i think you’d make a big fashion statement like that.

go for it. just by wearing black nail polish wont make you seem emo or whatever. it will look just fine. and i personally wouldn’t put the white tip at the end. plain black is cute. and black is DEFINATELY still in, i just read it in a magazine today.

i usually use permanent marker instead of nail polish tho it looks kewler X_x
