Have you ever met or seen a Black person who was “Goth” or “Emo”?
I went to high school and was friends with a few gothic folk (all white)… but my hs was very diverse. I have been called emo, and have wanted to dress as they do…
Just curious… Have you ever seen a black/ bi-racial/hispanic/asian,etc…. goth or emo person?
Princess Loves Obama- get off your high horse… I’m from Brooklyn, NY… it doesn’t get much more diverse and melting pot-esque than NYC! At my school, there were Black kids who dressed sorta goth but I didn’t want to make any assumptions.
Teddy- of course people can adopt the thoughts and ideas the fashions of various subcultures regardless of race… but with race often comes culture… and certain cultures are more inclined to adopt the ideals of a subculture than another….

Yeah actually, on the WifeSwap or Trading Spouses shows. This kid loved the chains and studs, it was awesome! He was black, he shaved his head bald and dressed all in black with the Tripp pants and black button down.

Just because it didn’t exist in your world doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. High school is a bubble not matter how "diverse" or "realistic" you think it is.

why are you calling out people who told you yes?? Why bother asking the question then?
with RACE comes CULTURE? Ha, so all white people have the same culture. Sure. Once, again, bubble. There are white people all over the fricking WORLD. Not just America.
i go to art school, i see them all the time.
Yes. He was emo (not with the hairstyle). He wore black clothes everyday. Walked all the time with his earphones on. He didn’t have black friends from what i remember.
Wow..i don’t think I have. I had a point when I was in High School where I did the humongous elephant pants ,dressing in all black and wearing Black lipstick, but it didn’t have a name back then. wait a minute, I was Goth..but only for like 3 months.

I hope you want to be a true Emo (you know, let’s everyone know your every emotion) and not a poser Emo (the ones that whine and want attention and slice themselves). But I’m guessing you want to be the real deal.
The key to being Goth or Emo is keeping an open mind. So as long as you’re open-minded, you’ll be fine.
Yep. Go to a goth club or get together. There are PLENTY, and they pull it off well. There are IMMENSE amounts of Japanese goths, so you can’t say there are no asian goths. The photos there are FULL of people of all sorts. Sometimes it’s just hard to tell because most have white on their faces and black hair.
