How did is change the art world in the cathedrals?

I was recently studying the Mosaics of Ravenna, from the Hagia Sophia. The people in the mosaics had rings or circles around their heads. I noticed that many paintings or mosaics from the Gothic art had this as well. Is there a significance to this?

Were can i get gothic art(punk). So far all i can find is reapers, skeletons ex….. I love drawling reapers and have become really good at it, but they are getting kind of boaring.
