I have these episodes where I just freak out coz of the smallest things or no reason at all. I can’t help but to think about anything but about death, chaos, and morbid things. I often write poetry about them and draw the grim reaper. Im not a gothic person Im a really nice person. I stay to myself. I forget who I am from time to time too. Normal stuff bugs me like at school I can’t stand the napkin holder at my table to be right side up it has to be upside down. Things like that anyone know what is wrong with me or if there is something wrong with me?

People that don’t dress ”goth” however have the same ideology and listen to gothic music and like dark art/poetry and horror movies. Do you think these people belong to the subculture? And if they do why the need to label themselves as something? If they don’t why not?

By "emo" I don’t mean, wrist-cutting, dark-dressing, marginally gothic creepers. I’m talking about super emotional guys who are all into poetry and artsy stuff and who like to talk about feelings.

Know anything along the Gothic lines?

Hello All! Im new to London, although for many years I have had an affinity for the gothic aesthetic (ie, goth literature, poetry, philosophy, fashion, etc), when it comes to music, Im sorely lacking – yes, I do listen to some like Voltaire, Lacrimosa, Zombie Girl, NIN (dodges fireballs) – so I was wondering about any other bands with the same music (black cabaret, more modern rock/gothic metal, industrial)… A note I’d like to make is that even though I’d love hearing the "Gods of Goth" *thunder boom* like Siouxie and Bauhaus etc at clubs and pubs – Im not exactly the one who’s memorised each an every album….Which concerns me since many goths I’ve met seem to almost take offense to the fact that I don;t listen to them religiously…What advice do u guys have? What bands would you reccommend? (Industrial, goth metal/rock, cabaret?)

Surrender

They slash their wrists before the video screen. Cameras loom over them. The sheer glow of the monitor beams lightning bolts into their eyes. Stardom hypnotizes the self-righteous. I think of stars and I think of welfare applicants who stand in line for a number. Everybody needs their butter and bread. What is the difference?

Their lyrics speak of blood and poetry. I don’t think lyrics and poetry form the same idea anymore. One tells a story, the other turns the story into a high art. I am starting to hate the separation of high art and low art. This is why both Franz Marc and graffiti art appeal to me. A painting class is coming up. I should sign up for something else. Boredom is my problem. I just dropped out of an urban jazz class.

Such classes appeal to Britney Spears fans, who also seem to enjoy platinum blonde weaves and fake silicone boobs. Silicone belongs in a computer chip, not in the human body. Whatever happened to natural?

I suppose there isn’t much natural about Amy Lee’s makeup but at least it is her own image and not a caricature of someone else’s. Johnny Rotten hated Sid Vicious because he felt they were modeling punk instead of living the life.

She mouths off about melancholy. Now the press refers to Evanescence as a gothic rock band. I didn’t know the genre was still alive. To me, that idea is liking kicking a dead horse.

looking for someone with the same interest as me i am very gothic love edgar allen poes poetry shakepear and alot of other stuff

i am thinking of turning goth because i always feel alone and sad and black suits my moods. Then i read about the culture and the poetry and art and i was atonished. That type of character suited me just completly. But i don’t have a lot of black clothes in my wardrobe so i figured to ask you. What type of clothes do gothic people wear. I researched on all typed of goth and i like the romantic goth at best. But everywhere i read poeple say diffrent stuff and i got confused. So please if you can tell me some outfits that romantic gothic girls would wear. Thank you
