Gothic Poetry Archives

i need a good sized list of Gothic Poets, but no-one mention Edgar Allen Poe, cause i don't care about his poetry.

Of these, which is most like your style?

Nature: You write poetry mainly about nature (the beauty of it, for example). Includes animals.

Gothic: Your poetry focuses on dark aspects, such as death and suffering.

Romantic: Your poems deal with love and/or romance.

Tributary: You write poems as tributes to people or things you love.

Informative: You warn your readers (for example, poems about the bad effects of drugs, pollution, etc.)

I know a lot of people write about random things, but if you had to choose from those five, what would it be?

Feel free to answer these other questions, too: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhSi.VXbAbbE1261j3THntHsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080524192820AAcPNTZ

In Thomas Harris' 'Hannibal' series, he mentions throughout that Lector has built a "palace of the mind" — an internal structure for organizing memory, critical thinking, and introspection. In "Hannibal", there are a few brief mentions of Hannibal's attempts to build a palace for Starling, specifically creating the foundation. In "Hannibal Rising", we see Lector's earliest introduction to building a palace and his use of it, but little details of how it was constructed.
My question is, what resources did Harris pull from to write about "palaces of the mind"? What studies or books are available on this subject? I've tried searching the web, but can't find anything that isn't a bad or bad gothic poetry. Helpful websites would also be appreciated — even if they're only on similar concepts. For example, I found a mention on a hypnosis website that, 'any non-licensed layperson could teach a subject how to open their subconscious mind for a perfect memory.'

Thanks in advance.

I need to find a website or data base of some sort that talks about gothic POETRY. Not FICTION, just poetry. I need to know who some fairly good gothic poets are besides Edgar Allen Poe, and how gothic poetry impacted history. Let me know if you can answer any of these questions!!!

I would love to read a very gothic book but have no idea of any good ones, love all the romanticism gothic poetry and that sort of stuff, but love modern gothic style too.

The book can't be too long as I am very close to my exams but would like a good read never the less

Any ideas? Thanks

“Death’s Lament.”

in a pond of blood she lies
her eyes daze as the darkness does arise
she screams out for help but no one is there
in pain she lies dyng, there is no one who will care
Secluded it is only herself and the cold wind
her nakedness only makes her more chagrined
there is nothing from within her emotionless eyes
she gives up and turns away, lays down and dies.
Suddenly a warm droplet warms icy skin,
a spark of life fills her from within.
She died in his arms.. she wasnt alone..
But never had she the chance to atone
Always isolate, or so she thought,
had only she known, she would have fought
and though now it was too late, she’d felt his tears from above
In her death she knew, she had true love.

Huge fan of Edgar Allen Poe
Having read pretty much everything he has done now im in need of some similar stuff.

Stephen king is a great horror writer but doesnt really have a way with words and poetry like Poe.
