Help w/ a friend and some unheard of religion, please.?
Okay, so I have this "friend" and she says she’s a jashinist. Well, I’m aware it’s from Naruto because I used to watch it when I was little. She always seemed kinda fake to me. She’d act all girly one day, then she’d get all "gothic" then, now, she’s a "Naruto fan." Last year, she had this "huge" obsession with anime and I asked her,"Why don’t you watch Naruto?" and she told me she had before but didn’t like it. Well, now, she has this "huge" obsession over it and is now a "Jashinist." She says it’s not off there, but I remember it being there and even have links describing what the religion is.

And I want to also ask, is this even a real religion? How illegal is it? (If it is real, of course) Do people actually believe in this?

Jashinism is a religion practiced by Hidan of the Anime/Manga Naruto which requires a masochistic love and self harm, and stresses that anything less than death and utter destruction is a sin. I stress that the religion’s laws require that you understand the pain of others, therefore giving a person the right to give that same pain. That means that you cannot kill someone unless you are dead or have been killed (which is perfect for Hidan as he is immortal), thus requiring one to harm them self as a sacrifice everyday. Another requirement is that you pray to "Lord Jashin" (literally: evil god or evil heart)every day. The symbol worn on a necklace by Jashinists in that of an upside-down triangle inside a circle (I’ve been told it is the fire-sign).
It is a stupid and dangerous FAD!! It is crazy to even consider this any type of real. Try to talk so since into your friend.
