everytime i wear black nail polish, people accuse me of going goth..and it drives me insane..i have to wear pink nail polish just to get people off my back! (and i hate pink!) Tell me what you guys think

Okay, so for a while now i’ve been wanting to paint my nails black.
I’m NOT emo or goth, i’m kinda preppy sceneish i guess?
idk i wear skinny jeans (not neon ones) and shop at places like abercrombie, hollister, pacsun.
anyways, i really like the way Lauren Conrad has her nails, but i need a way to have my paint my nails black with out looking emo.

how can i change that?
rings?
certain clothes?
bracelets?
omg, get over yourself.

i don’t wanna look like a freak, because where i live all the little freaking emo girls wear black nail polish, and i would NEVER want to look like them.

I really want to paint my nails black. I’m not goth or anything, but black nail polish kind of gives me a rockstar feeling, lol. I used to think it was really ugly, but now I kinda like it. What do you guys think?

I already wear black nail polish. But I do not consider myself any style. I dress in BRIGHT colors everyday. Usually wear sneakers, I do suffer from depression, but i hide it when out in public so nobody knows. Will they call me goth? I just wanna wear black lipstick cause it looks awesome.
PS my friends call us "Cheerful Goths" cause were goof offs, but we like goth things…you know?

okay so in every mag i read and i every celeb on tv is wearing black nail polish. i bought some but idk if i should wear it bcuz all the emo/punk ppl in my school wear it. i have nothing against emo ppl, its just that im very preppy and i dont want to seem like a weird poser. so what should i do? btw, if i painted them black but then put white tips on them would that be less emo and cuter? i 13 in 7th grade too. thanxxxx

im indian, dark brown w/ black hair and black just happens to look really good on me so i like wearing black nail polish. im not a goth or anything, and im slightly emo but not really, no one would label me as one. i like to wear lots of black eyeliner but i think it looks really nice on me. again, i wear black clothes sometimes b/c i look good in black and its slimming

black is a trend, or was a trend, but i’ve always liked to wear it. however, i’ve been feeling hesitant lately as im starting college now and im worried that i’ll be perceived wrong. my mom hates when i wear it, she says that she doesn’t want ppl to think that im "ruined" or "spoiled" b/c good girls don’t wear black nail polish. but i am a "good girl", im playful, i smile a lot, and i laugh a lot and im really studious. do you think i should scrap wearing the black nail polish? i can’t bring myself to stop wearing it but as soon as i step out of the house, my confidence in it just drops. help!

Im so preppy im the farthest from goth or emo. Im preppy and love pink. I started to wear black nail polish today and my bff told me to stay away from it. I think its cute, i dont want people thinking im goth/emo.
