we grew up being friends in grade school. but for a long time up till about 8th grade we didnt talk or even act like friends. i was at freshmen greeting day and we walked and talked for a long time with none of that weird silence and i thought i would really like to date here and now on the first day of our freshmen year she doesnt acknowledge me or anything we even have classes together and still nothing. what should i do. she is miss popular and everybody is her friend and she is beautiful. i have like ten friends that im not really close to. im pale wear black and white or black and red clothes and am called the goth kid. do i even stand a chance. oh and Nine inch nails is the best band ever

I have blond hair, but I really want to be goth. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, I always wore black, painted my nails black, most of the stuff. The bad part is that I have blond hair.

Hello everyone. Me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year and ten months straight. He lives with his mom and step dad, so I don’t see his dad or step mom very often…
This Sunday, I am going to Mass with Noah and his dad, and later, will see his step mother.
His step mother is a bit… odd. She claims to be such a wonderful Christian, but, has been divorced twice, and had an affair with my boyfriend’s dad, while he had two kids and was already married (and she was married outside their relationship with kids of her own, too). She thinks Metalica, Ozzy Osbourne, Harry Potter, and anyone who is Liberal, Libertarian (myself, but she doesn’t know that yet) or is in a different political standing is evil, or anyone who is gay (I personally love gay people, don’t think it’s right… but I have tons of gay and bi friends, and I love them to the point of death), or listens to metal…

Help!

She was scared the first time she saw me even, when I went to church with them… (I’m a Christian, too). It took her a long time to warm up to me, even though I was nice…

Well, I want to be honest with her this sunday.
"Yes, I listen to metal."
"Yes, if you have not figured it out from the black lace, boots, accessories, make up and what not… I do consider myself, and have for a long time now, a goth."
"Yes I like some songs by Ozzy Osbourne and some metal bands… but that doesn’t make me a bad person."
"Yes I like vampires, but I hate Twilight." (She thinks Harry Potter is evil and threw away my boyfriend’s book which was a gift from his catholic grandmother, whom I love… but she loves Twilight. I know, doesn’t make much sense.)
"Yes… I look like this all the time…"
"No, I don’t do drugs or go to that many secular concerts… only one I’ve ever been to was because Dir en Grey was in the United States…"

and so on and so on….

Can you guys give me suggestions?

I don’t want to cause more issues than there already are, but I really don’t feel right about, well… being dishonest with anyone, really, let alone someone who is the stepparent of my boyfriend of 1 year and 10 months…

so again, any advice would be great.

I need to just tell his step mom I’m not a bad person… and there is alot of Christian goth metal and even a goth christian techno CD from the early 90s I found at a thrift store…..
so yeah: need to be honest about who I am, so she does not freek out later… or silently judge US (if we were just friends, I wouldn’t care much at all) because of some bad sterotypes she heard on Fox.

I’m going goth for halloween and I need some way to style my hair kinda goth. I’ve got layered hair that goes to the middle of my back and has a slight wave. I’ve already got how I’m going to color it but I need a way to style it that doesn’t involve cutting my hair or something that takes a long time to do. Please include a picture, thanks.

I’m going to have to break out the labels here for a better understanding. My boyfriend who used to be emo is, now, scene, and I’m (http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff331/iamashykunoichi/10354.png) Goth.

We’ve been dating for about five years (online and will be meeting each other sometime next year. Yeah, that’s a long time to be dating someone online. But long distance relationships can work out. It takes trust. We are both eighteen years old, now).

I decided to select multiple tops, bottoms, and accessories out online for him to put together for me to buy and wear for a photoshoot (just random pictures as usual). We both thought it was a sweet thing to do…

Well… I just found out he pretty much doesn’t like the clothing I do (I haven’t even made any selections yet because I know whatever I pick he’s going to dislike). He prefers scene girl clothing. Leggings, skinny jeans, flannel, tight clothes, whatever!

I don’t like scene girl clothes and know if I ever did wear them I’d feel uncomfortable and bad. It just isn’t me. So I asked him to pick out examples of Goth clothing he liked and all of which was more punk than Goth and, also, not me. Leggings, he included just to see if I’d go for them, and no… :\ I can’t stand leggings or tight jeans.

I was happy he took the time to find me the examples he did and thanked him. I did tell why I didn’t like each example. Is it wrong of me to not want to try clothing he likes? I mean… I love him with all my heart and want him to be happy… but I know my unhappiness will show. When I don’t like something… I really don’t like it.

He told me that it’s all right and I look fine no matter what I’m wearing… The thing is… I want, to look good, clothes and all, for him for this photoshoot. I want him to think what I’m wearing looks good on me. And I feel like I’ve disappointed him… because I’m not into the clothes he’s into on a girl… Also, I feel like he’d be embarrassed to be seen with me in public.

I told him that… if I could wear the clothes he likes I would. It’s the thought that should count, yes, but it’s bugging me. Should I find some scene clothes with little to no color (mostly, black)? I, still, wouldn’t feel comfortable in them… but they are, in the very least, dark and it would be for him. I wouldn’t wear them in public or anything. He, already, knows there’s no way I’m ever going to make my hair big and fluffy. I’m not going to get converted. I’ve been most comfortable and me with a dark image because of my dark interests since sixth grade.

I can’t remember exact details because it was so obscure, but it’s been bothering me for a long time now. I just remember that it involved a skinny gothic kid hanging around a vampire or something, and it took place in a high school as far as I can remember.

Ok, I've been a site member for a VERY long time, long enough to remember when their were no emo/scene kids in the site… The site is for "Gothic Industrial Culture" I'm trying to figure out why (scene/emo) have to ruin everything for original underground websites… they spread faster than STDs…. I know you don't have to prove yourself of one of the Industrial Culture but seriously? We don't come on thier forums and livejournals.
